Nice lamp for the price. Arrived quickly and was packed well. It's not super high-quality, but for the price, it works for me. My only concern is the fact that the top finial that actually screws down the lamp shade into place doesn't tighten up enough for the shade to feel fully secure. This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. -For $500 I would expect the sections of this lamp to fit properly and be the same shade of bronze (see photos). The team (everybody I have ever talked with at Perigold), has been professional, listens well, and has offered good suggestions. I love the lamp. I love everything about it. Except during shipping one of the shade glass panels was broken. And, the body of the lamp wobbles, which it is not designed to happen. Having said this disappointing news, I have set up the lamp in a corner where hopefully my cleaning crew won’t attempt to move it. This was the third attempt to make it right and I have no confidence in the delivery teams to care for the lamp in transit. The manufacturer packs it so well, I’m surprised that either the shade or the body of the lamp could possibly be damaged. Clearly, based on the care given to pack it so tightly and well to stabilize both parts, the delivery teams must have not treated the boxes with care - or said another way, they either threw the boxes or something else to cause such damage. By the way, after the second lamp was damaged I spoke with the manufacturer about it. The woman I spoke with was horrified and in fact, spoke with the man who puts this lamp together who gave assurances that their QC process is tight and no lamp leaves the manufacturing floor unless all parts are functioning as intended. They went as far as to describe their approach to crafting this beautiful lamp. It makes me sad. Thank you for being a company that cares about the products you offer. I have purchased 4 different lamps through you within the past year or two, and love them all. That this stunning lamp has been mistreated during transit is no reflection on Perigold, and after personally speaking with the manufacturer, this unfortunate situation has no reflection on them.. I like this lamp. The base is very solid, it stands up well, and it looks nice. I can't in good conscience give it more than two stars for two primary reasons: First, it claims to be glass, but I've never met glass that makes a dead "thud" sound when you tap it. It seems like molded plastic to me. Second, as pointed out in other reviews, it does not have a rotary switch - it has a foot switch. The listing on Wayfiar is blatantly incorrect/false/deceptive, take your pick of adjective. If the listing wasn't deceptive I would probably give this five stars. Just beware of what you are buying.. Stained glass is handcrafted using the same technique that was developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany in the early 1900s. Glass types and colors are designed using metallic salts during manufacturing. Each piece of real glass is hand-cut and copper foil is wrapped around each piece. The glass pieces are then welded by hand to create one-of-a-kind designs. As part of the finishing process, oil is added to the outside of the design to protect the metal from erosion. The beauty of stained glass is its versatility when illuminated by light. Stained glass will become more vibrant when lit.
