All bench/table legs and statuary should be raised up off the ground in winter so they will not freeze on the ground surface. Items that have areas that pool water should be wrapped with burlap or any absorbent material (old blanket/towel) and then wrapped with dark plastic, making sure that water does not accumulate and freeze.

I used this as a base to a water fountain in my garden. It lifted the fountains height plus it brought out a good look to it. I highly appreciate it and would recommend it for your garden needs. They suggest that birdbath tops not be left outside in the winter. Once the top fills with water/snow and freezes, the top may crack. All birdbath bases, bench legs, and statuary should be raised off the ground in winter so they will not freeze to the ground surface. Ideally, a birdbath should be stored indoors in the winter away from the elements. However, if a birdbath bowl must be left outside, remove all pumps, rubber stoppers, drain pipes, finials, and small components, and cover the top with burlap or any absorbent material (old blanket/towel) and then wrapped with dark plastic, making sure that water does not accumulate in the basin and freeze. Birdbath pumps, finials, and other small components should be stored indoors. Fantastic, 7222025, piece literally fell apart over the winter. YI would never buy one again the picture of it together is when it first arrived. 2nd picture is what it looks like today. I had to throw the base part away when the part of the bowl that connects to the base broke. Bowl cracked tried to use cement but that didn’t work either. Waste of money. Was very disappointed..
