The size, the craftsmanship and the sheer softness of this rug makes it a wonderful compliment to my livingroom. The rug was a bit lighter in color than I expected and the hues of color aren't exactly as indicated (the dark reds are more of a deep orange). But the quality and overall comfort make it well worth it. I think it is well worth placing it on a 1/4" or better carpet pad to keep it in place and releive any possible damage underneath it to the rug or floor. The price was a big plus, too, as I might not have considered buying it for the original price. I love the way that it changed the feel of my livingroom. I highly recommend it. UPDATE May 2026: It is a true wool rug, and shedding seemed excessive in the beginning. Finally the rug has settled down.
