It’s extremely durable and very heavy, which makes it feel sturdy and secure. One thing that isn’t obvious in the product images is that the base is also massive. As you can see in my photos, it has a large footprint, so you’ll want to plan your layout accordingly. That said, the quality is excellent. At the 300 price point, you truly get what you pay for. Fantastic purchase! First think is this is big and tall. Be prepared to get a lot of sand. I bought 300lbs. and it took it like nothing. Locate and place base begore filling for sure. The umbrella itself is wonderful. It is beautiful and covers a large area and just looks luxurious. It opens abd closes with ease. The 360 degree turning is also easy and a great feature. We ordered this umbrella to cover our patio living room table and chairs on our pool deck. This worked perfectly. Some tips for set up. Put the cross base together with the pole for the cantilever and put it in place. Then fill the weights with sand...about 75 lbs in each section of the base. Place the weights on your base, then fill each weight with water. Use a large gas funnel to fill the sand. And by the way...this umbrella goes up and down super easy and I am not super strong..
