Just what we needed for our new 12’ x 12’ cantilever umbrella to be able to move it around. Very big and sturdy base that supports the umbrella well. The only issue my husband was worried about was the fact smaller rocks could easily fall out through the large hole screen it comes with in the bottom of the squares. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do and keeps our cantilever umbrella nice and secure. We initially tried filling the base with sand, but quickly realized that was a pretty tedious process, so we switched to water instead. As the rating scale indicates, this is JUST WHAT I NEED. For years, I have used cement paving stones to secure our giant umbrella. But those got very dirty. In comes this base. The umbrella base arrived quickly and on time. It was super easy to fill the sections with water and I also put step stones on top, just to have extra weight. So far, so good. I have been needing to get a new base for our umbrella for a while now. When I saw this one, I knew it would be the right choice. The base is very large and made of really thick plastic. It apears to be very durable and super easy to assemble. We have not put it up yet because we are in the middle of hurricane season. As soon as we are given the all clear signal I will be super excited to be able to sot under my umbrella once again. I love something that requires zero assembly. These four pieces came packaged very well with no damage. It was easy to unscrew and screw on the caps with no issues or problems how it fit. It does take a while to fill them up so either use a backyard hose or just be patient using the kitchen sink. I ordered a cantilever umbrella that had a metal X base which couldn't support the weight of the umbrella so I ordered this to hold it in place. It took about $15-20 worth of sand from the local hardware store to fill it up. For me the base is SO bulky though. Perhaps this isn't something that can be avoided due to the nature of the item and the weight it needs to compensate for but it takes up a lot of space so just make sure you plan for that.
