Easy to put together took about 15 minutes by just me. Love the height adjustability of the table the lowest setting works perfect for me sitting at my couch & the highest setting would work for someone over 6 ft tall. Sturdy piece, no assembly. I didn't really think about the placement of the cord, but it is kind of in a weird spot and will make moving the table around the couch (end vs middle vs other side of the L, etc.) a bit difficult, as we got this to save space because we have an ottoman, not a coffee table.
