A cabinet-grade plywood backing adds additional stability to ensure that your tables withstand the normal wear and tear of a restaurant. Each table top is a natural reclaimed wood product, providing additional character with some variation in color and texture based on the raw material available. The reclaimed wood table tops come with a water-based urethane Matte finish to make them easy to clean and keep yourself free of pesky splinters. This was a awesome find. Never knew it would be this hard to find a bar top but if you can get your hands on it purchase with confidence. It is finished beautifully and only needs to be installed. I cut mine down about 18 inches to fit a custom bar top install in the basement. The quartz pairing for the lower counter tops look outstanding. If you try to buy this direct the shipping costs are outrageous. Just get it from Wayfair as it ships 10x faster and is actually cheaper when you account for the shipping costs of company direct. Overall the workbench is very well made and extremely sturdy. It was very easy to put together with clear instructions. The only negative is that the top had a small crack at one end and a few other dings right out of the box. They don't impact performance and I'm OK with that. Otherwise the product is great!. It took longer than expected to receive the countertop but it arrived in immaculate condition and looks amazing. I put on 3 thin coats of wipe-on water based satin polyurethane to protect it and sanded lightly with steel wool in between coats. Despite significant damage to the shipping box the bar top is 99.9 undamaged. There is a minor chip on the bottom edge not visible from the top. This is attributed to the outstandingly packaging that was done for shipping. This bar top and delivery has exceeded my expectations. These Hevea butcher block countertops were just what I wanted for my new office. They were well packaged and arrived without damage. A few coats of matte poly were easy to apply. Nice smooth edges too so no additional sanding needed. They were less than half the cost of what I could get through my local big box DIY store.
