Glad I waited for this one to exist! Many years ago, I had a kitchen cart and when we had our countertops redone, I had a piece of the granite cut for that particular cart. As the years went on, we replaced the cart with another piece of kitchen furniture and put the piece of granite away. After some renovation to our house, we realized we had room again for a kitchen cart but now my tastes were a little bit more sophisticated and I wanted something that was really beautiful and that would match the aesthetics of the kitchen. It took a while to find this one because I needed two things, this cart had to be very sturdy in order to withstand the weight of the piece of granite, and it needed to be of a size that the granite would overhang, but only a little bit. I am so pleased to say that sometimes I just a glance to admire this cart and how beautiful it is. In preparing this review, I just was reminded that it has drawers! Maybe I’ll use them now that I found them. They open up quite far, which is actually very very nice. The shelves are great, although we haven’t used them yet. I found this very easy to put together and of course I did remove the top that it comes with to place my piece of granite on top. We love this island! I was a little skeptical ordering online and not being able to see it in person. The island is exactly as described. The island is sturdy, well made, and looks so nice in the kitchen. My cabinets are sarsaparilla color and Ive had trouble finding a color to match it that would have clashed (cherry colored or white). This antique black is perfect and the counter top matches the color of our dining room table and some colors in our counter. It took about 1 hour to put together by myself. Love this rolling kitchen island! It was pretty easy to assemble. Took about 1 hour. It’s not too big and has a drop leaf to make the countertop bigger. It can easily seat 2 people comfortably if needed. It has wheels that lock so you don’t have to worry about it moving. It does have an area for the garbage can, but I won’t use it for that.
