I bought this table thinking I was getting something bigger. The ad says it can seat 8 when fully extended. There is nothing to extend. It may seat 8, but it will be extremely crampeduncomfortable, especially for 8 adults. If you do manage to seat 8 adults, there is no possible way to have anything on the table except regular place-settings, which means all food will have to be dished out in the kitchen. This would make an EXCELLENT kids table, but probably not great for an adults table, if youre looking to have a traditional 8-place-setting meal. The reviews on this table are all over the place, so I wanted to share my honest experience. Quality 1010. This table is solid wood, very sturdy, and surprisingly heavy. It feels well-made and substantial. Packaging 1010. It arrived extremely well protected with no damage. Assembly 1010. Assembly couldn’t have been easier—you just attach the legs. As for the appearance, this is where I’m a little torn. I don’t love the finish. Instead of looking naturally rustic, it has more of a whitewashed, chalky look, and the wood has a slight pink undertone. In my opinion, the finish cheapens what is otherwise a beautiful table. Ironically, I actually prefer the look of the unfinished underside. That said, the table has definitely grown on me. I think it pairs beautifully with white upholstered dining chairs, and the overall shape is timeless and elegant. I also chose the 84-inch size after reading reviews that the smaller version looked a bit undersized compared to the chunky pedestal legs, and I’m really glad I sized up. Overall, while I’m not completely in love with the finish, I’m still happy with my purchase because the craftsmanship, quality, and design are excellent. This was a fun DIY project for me. It does come with what feels like a gazillion parts, and the instructions can be a little confusing at one point, so take your time. It took me about 3 hours to assemble everything by myself. Once it was finished, though, the end result was fantastic. I’d rate the sturdiness 910—it’s solid for everyday use—but the appearance is easily on par with dining tables that cost much more. It looks premium and has a great presence in the room. I love this table. It was delightfully easy to put together - literally took about five minutes, tops. The only challenging part was that I live alone (with two dogs who couldn't really help in this regard) and it's VERY heavy, so moving it just from my front door to the dining room about 30 feet away was a bit tough. I was also a bit disappointed that it arrived with some minor damage. One corner of the table got a tiny bit smashed in during shipping. But - I love the design and the quality of the table, and I honestly think they could charge a lot more for this product if they wanted to.
