It was SUPER easy to put together. It had the same screws basically for everything, so it was hard to mess up. It does come in a lot of pieces, however, the slats will come in the smaller box that gets delivered which is nice. It took me about 1.5 hours with help. The tracking of the shipment was also super convenient and accurate. I was thrown off with the staircase handrail, it’s not very kid friendly to hold onto because it’s low. It does squeak a little bit when my girls climb the stairs, and can sway easy. That’s the only reason I took a star away. Otherwise it is perfect for my 2 and 3 year old to share!. Katie. The bed arrives in 3 heavy boxes. The directions are not as clear as building LEGOs, but we were able to follow them. There are a lot of pieces, so it took quite a few hours to assemble. Some of the pieces were scuffed and slightly damaged upon arrival, but not bad enough that we wanted them to be replaced. The bed is large and heavy when it's completely done, so make sure you have it where you want it as you complete the last few steps. The light in the shelf is cool, but the controls to turn it on/off are kind of weird, and the instructions suggest putting it in a place that you can't reach once the bed is assembled, so that doesn't make any sense. Overall it turned out really nice. The kids love it so far. We really like all the storage spaces. They didn’t give us enough of some of the screws so we had to go out and buy our own, but it ended up working out just fine. We had to attach the brackets to the inside of the book case part because they wouldn’t fit on the back of the stairs like it was shown in the picture. We love this bunk bed. It's made of a sturdy wood. It was not that bad to assemble. I took off 1 star because it was almost impossible to remove the drawers from the frame in order to screw the pieces down and together. we had to force the drawers out and it cracked the wood. Luckily, the crack doesn't show from view but we had to glue the wood to keep it together. otherwise we love this bed! wayfair customer service was great handling this issue. but contacting the actual company was unsuccessful. The slide is very steep and the extra piece at the end hurts your bottom when you slide. It’s also awkward to get onto it from the top bunk. The storage in the stairs is a bit strange, very deep and the wall next to the bed doesn’t go all the way to the front of the step. It’s pretty solid and the drawers on the bottom are great. The top also comes off the bottom bed so it can be used as a solo full sized bed later.
