It serves our purpose for two teens in one bedroom. It did take 4 hours to put together (two people and husband is a contractor). If you have 8ft ceilings it is a tight fit for a teenager. I'm happy with the bunk bed. But my kids are ecstatic. They were celebrating it for like 30 minutes. And the best part is they sleep better now. Putting it together was as difficult as advertised and due to my fitness level, I was sore for days after. The instructions were thorough, though could have been better as some steps could be merged with later ones to make the construction easier to accomplish. And the slats portion could be improved significantly as some were shorter than others. Those steps also didn't convey that the position of each wasn't fixed. So I had to measure the bed frame and put marks down to ensure I did it evenly. I would have expected markings on the frame to indicate where the slats would go. We like the overall bed, but the instruction manual was missing and we couldn’t find it online anywhere. We called customer service and they emailed it to me within a few days. The only thing we don’t like is the ladder. The steps aren’t very deep and it is quite steep. It would be nice if their feet could go through or it wasn’t straight up.
