We recently updated my mother's bedroom, and one of the biggest changes was purchasing this Twin over Full bunk bed that she had been wanting. Overall, we are very pleased with it. The bed is solid and sturdy for the price, and the color looks great in the room. Assembly wasn't particularly difficult, but there are a lot of pieces, so I recommend giving yourself plenty of space to organize everything before you start. We also added a few extra slats for additional mattress support, which worked out well. For the lower full-size bunk, we purchased the 9" Plush Cooling Gel Hybrid Mattress by Zinus, and it's been comfortable for her to sleep on. We are thrilled with our two twin bunk beds! Our bunk room is small, but we needed to be able to comfortably fit our 3 kids with an option for visitors. My requirements a small footprint, ladders that could be on either side or an end, solid wood and a modern look. I'm happy with the bunk bed. But my kids are ecstatic. They were celebrating it for like 30 minutes. And the best part is they sleep better now. Putting it together was as difficult as advertised and due to my fitness level, I was sore for days after. The instructions were thorough, though could have been better as some steps could be merged with later ones to make the construction easier to accomplish. And the slats portion could be improved significantly as some were shorter than others. Those steps also didn't convey that the position of each wasn't fixed. So I had to measure the bed frame and put marks down to ensure I did it evenly. I would have expected markings on the frame to indicate where the slats would go. Relatively easy install, just took time. Solid construction. There is a metal bar that runs under top bunk, that I purchased pipe foam insulation to cover it as I knew it was just a matter of time before a child hit there head really hard on it. While solid wood, it does indent/mark easily, I have two rambunctious boys who quickly put multiple dents in it and cracked the wood where the ladder attaches by pulling up on the ladder, but probably sonething similar would happen with any bed that we got!. This bed is AWESOME! My 9yo daughter loves it and so does her 11yo brother. She’s tall for her age and our ceilings are on the low side (house built in 1982), but she’s able to be comfortable when she’s in her bed without issue. I wanted to find something to maximize her small bedroom and allow flexibility. Right now she has a little sofa under it, but as she grows, we’ll be able to rearrange the space into something different! She went from hating her room to loving it. It did have a small flaw on the white pieces, but it was small enough to not worry about, considering what the kids will put it through. Cannot recommend this bed enough.
