Amazing bed!! Putting it together definitely requires two people but it has very straightforward instructions. At a 140lbs I was able to climb on it and the bed was extremely sturdy. This bed was somewhat painful to assemble, it took us about 6 hours of work over the course of 8 hours. The instructions were pretty decent to work through but a couple spots needed adjustments. This one had two spots with tiny issues. The first was noticing the lamination over an edge coming off...but I'm thinking that piece got hidden under the stars. So it should be okay. The other incident was when the "X" bolt got put in backwards (rookie) and when removing it the wood splintered a bit. It's in a spot that's not highly visible, in the top front corner of the desk area, and I don't think it affects the integrity of the unit. This was a big pain to install! Took about 7-8 hours with about 3 of us (we had 2 kids help us so we count them as half each because they were in and out with their "help" lol). Between making sure the bars didnt turn on you and only tightening at 70% but at the end having to find all 100 of the screws to tightening them.... it was a lot. Also I know the sides come with a warning, but please please remember the low ceilings when you have the bed frame up. Adults hits their heads 3 times each before we got the memo. Ouch! However, when all was said and done, my daughter was very happy. The bed edge makes me nervous for sleep purposes, but going to look into possibly a thinner mattress. Maybe even a bed rail of sorts. The bottom loft is very roomy. Has a lot of table space and even the drawers have a lot of room to them. I didn't realize they were cloth drawers, but they are nice and fit a lot. This is an awesome bed, however, you need patience when you’re putting it together read the instructions carefully. It took about four hours, but it was well worth it.!! I put it together for my grandson, he absolutely adores it underneath the bed. You can see a little fort he takes his truck in cars and sometimes he even naps underneath. And on the front side of the bed is a nice desk. where he does his homework.. however the lights to come with it do not circumference around the whole bottom of the bed.
