The directions were very clear and understandable. It had a wonderful cedar smell and was lightweight. It was very easy to put together. I did have a few screws that stripped the wood a little as I tightened them. I do also worry about its stability with it being so lightweight. Very nice product all together.. Leslie. WV. We like the look of this table on our deck. The 54” added 6” to our previous seating capacity which we wanted without having to change the existing rug. The 4 rating is due to an obvious seam where the top halves meet; something I was wary of prior to buying. It took 45 minutes for my husband and me to put it together. It was not easy, so if you are not good with tools and many screws, washers, nuts and bolts, you may want to get a table from a big box store or super expensive table from a patio store.. Jean.
