The box became damaged during transit. After opening and removing the first layer of the plastic wrap I begin hearing an oozing sound, contrary to me not even opening the standard vacuum wrapped plastic. This mattress has truly been a great lifesaver for our back pain. My husband has a herniated disc and requires a very firm mattress. This did take a full 48 hours to completely get to its firmness, so don’t be discouraged after it compresses on the first day. He reports that his back pain has improved greatly, and I would strongly suggest this bed for those experiencing spinal issues. I am also sleeping with my baby and follow the safe seven sleep method which requires a very firm mattress. This mattress falls into the guidelines for safe co sleeping, and I’m ecstatic to find one in a great price point. We highly recommend this mattress. Updated review. I unfortunately have to remove one star as as I was waiting for the bed to expand. I realize that it was not expanding lengthwise. There are about 3 to 4 inches missing off the top and or bottom of the mattress. I purchased my bedframe off of Wayfair and the measurements are for 18 size bed. Maybe this is a me problem since I didn’t think about it in advance but this mattress is extremely thick, which means standard sheets will not be able to reach over the top of tuck underneath it. The mattress is perfectly comfortable (I bought a twin size for my sons bed) but I’m now annoyed that I will have to buy all new sheets with deep pockets if I want to be able to tuck them in, which I like to do to have a clean look..
