This book shelf was easy to construct. It took one person approximately an hour to assemble. The instructions were clear and simple to follow. All of the hardware and tools were included. We chose to not put the backing on it because we like the brick aesthetic of the hearth. It is sturdy and would hold up with all the shelves filled. We recommend this product. Debbie. Arrives very well packaged. Assembly instructions are pretty terrible, but the unit itself is very good quality. I'd suggest dry fit prior to assembly of parts.
