I purchased an open-box unit and it looks great. The base is very heavy and provides solid support for the arc lamp. At first, I thought I had tightened the Allen screws that secure the extending pole, but I hadn’t, and it slipped. Once I fixed that, everything held firmly. I assembled it on the second floor and then moved it to a third-floor bedroom. There was quite a bit of shaking due to the arc shape, but it maintained its structure without any issues. The lamp is terrific, but the foot starter has fallen apart in many parts. My wife and I attempted too gingerly step on the charger which came apart.
