It’s almost a shame to ever lower the intricate mahogany front panel (which takes over a week to carve), of this mid-19th century antique replica, except that its leather embossed writing desk with pigeonholes and drawers is so useful! Four exterior locking drawers add to the functionality of this heirloom piece carved with stylized unicorns distressed just enough to replicate an antique. Hand-carved mahogany is constructed with an engineered plywood back panel and drawer and an MDF inner door and side panel for supreme stability and strength.

The desk is great overall. I really like the finish and it’s heavy which, for me speaks to the quality of the build. It was a relatively easy process to assemble as well. Unfortunately, there were several dings in the desk that I believe resulted from being delivered by FedEx rather than the delivery company that usually delivers larger pieces of furniture. Therefore, this very large and heavy desk was delivered by one man. I honestly don’t even know how he got it up on the front porch all on his own. I love this desk! To simplify our golden years we purchased a 2100 sf home. For the office I ordered this desk in Brown (47.23” width) and it fits perfectly. It is well made, the trim and color variation are lovely. Very simple to assemble for two people by attaching the legs to desk. Everything was securely wrapped and padded when boxed for shipment. I no longer need a deep file drawer, as I don’t keep tons of files these days. (I use a portable file box tote that is easily accessible and ready to transport during an emergency). Very nice high quality desk and perfect for a small space. That's specifically why we purchased it We had it professionally assembled so I can't speak to how easy or difficult it is to put together.
