We are using this as a shoe cabinet. Wayfair calls it a bookshelf, but I don’t think I would ever recommend it for books — the shelves are not adjustable and are way too short for books. They are perfect for our shoes, though! Even our boots fit nicely on the taller shelves. I am giving four stars because the construction of the doors, though cute, is not very sturdy at all. If you have active pets or kids I think they’re likely to break easily. Hopefully ours hold up since it’s in an out of the way location in our home, but only time will tell. The item resembles the picture (h0wecer looks a bit less cheaper amd polished as advertised/pictured). It was not as finished as I'd hoped, considering there was a deep-groove scratch about 3 feet long and about 16th of an inch deep on on one of the pieces for the door. I can't tell which piece because it is unassembled and not yet put together. There are a few more scratches on various pieces. I could submit a video, if applicable. Lastly, I was a bit disappointed that it included plastic rollers and hinges rather than metal. It was delivered on time. This was a bit difficult to assemble. The instructions was very clear and understandable but it broke in 2 places while assembling. Luckily it was in areas you cant see it and doesnt compromise the functionality of the piece. The unit is built in seperate pieces the bottom half and then the top part. You need 2 very strong people to flip the top half to set on top of the bottom half. It is quite heavy and awkward because you cant set it on the bottom of the top half because there are screws that need to sit into the bottom half to have it locked with the cami screws. That is how the screw broke off when we were trying to flip it and set it down on the bottom half. The doors are not glass it is acrylic. It looks very nice once assembled but the particle board can break or snap if not careful. This is the first time assembling a Wayfair piece of furniture that this happened. It took 5 - 6 hours. This is my first Wayfair review, although not my first purchase. I absolutely love everything about this door! It is heavy and sturdy, and it slides well for open and close. I will be drilling a few small holes on the shelf side, for hooks to store car keys and other items to have handy by the front door. It’s exactly what I pictured for my space. However, I gave this a 4-star due to the unclear instructions. It took my husband and me over an hour to put the door together, and then an afternoon to install it. This is definitely a two-person job! I really wish companies would understand that most of us aren’t assemblers by nature, and that step-by step photos and super-specific instructions go a long way towards a customer’s satisfaction.
