The seat part of the sofa is not hard but not soft. I would say medium to soft but this is understandable given it is a sofa bed and I am overall very impressed with its comfort. This is so cute and comfortable. Fabric has a great feel and it will be perfect for our smaller guests (note max depth). Using in my teens room for her overnight friends. We like it better with the arms up. I think it looks better, and one of the arms doesn’t lay as flat as the other. The arms don’t lay completely flat so we probably wouldn’t use with a tall drink. 4 stars because the arms don’t lock-in flat. To be fair, the product image doesn’t show completely flat.. Sydney.
