This iconic 1976 photograph, "Eden-Roc Pool", by Slim Aarons captures the stunning seaside pool at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc on the French Riviera, a celebrated retreat for the world’s elite. Set against the dramatic cliffs and sparkling Mediterranean, the image conveys the effortless glamour and leisure that defined the Riviera lifestyle in the mid-20th century, a favorite playground of celebrities, aristocrats, and jet-setters. Aarons’ composition highlights both architectural elegance and the relaxed social atmosphere that made this locale legendary. Slim Aarons, renowned for his evocative photographs of, as he described it, "attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places," was the quintessential chronicler of high society. His work for society publications captured an aspirational world of leisure and luxury that defined the American upper class throughout the mid-20th century, creating images that remain timeless symbols of sophistication and style. The photograph is presented as a high-resolution scan of the photo's original photographic slide, complete with hand-lettered archival notations along the mount. Offered exclusively by Soicher Marin, this edition preserves the full character of the original format, transforming it into a striking piece of wall art that merges history, authenticity, and timeless style.
