The fan is perfect for a small room. It is in my 14 year old's room and the lighting is very cool. The fan puts out the amount of air you would expect for this size fan so it is not suitable for a large room like the living room. The installation was more complicated than other fans I've done. It's not impossible but it just took a lot of patience as the hardware provided wasn't as forgiving as some of the other brackets I've worked with. Fortunately it is also not nearly as heavy as larger fans so it is also much more forgiving when mounting. My ground wires were extremely hard to connect them all together and the one connected to the base snapped off at the connection to the screw. I ended up having to use an additional wire and manually wrap it around the screw but this actually made things much easier cause this wire was longer and allowed me to easily connect all three grounds together. Yes, the metal color is a bit brassy-pinkish -- some would say borderline tacky/campy -- but I like it for "glamming up" my bedroom. The crystals are beautiful and the 40 or so large, weighy spheres took about 45 minutes for me to attach after the elecrician removed the older fan and installed this one. The long crystals came pre-installed, with a couple extras included in case of breakage. The fan uses a remote and has 6 speeds, moving a surprisingly impressive amount of air. The LED lights have several different colors and brightnesses. The fan runs quietly and has no balance issues thus far (it's only been a week). The clear blades fold away neatly on top of the light fixture when the fan isn't being used. IF you are looking for an understated "elegant" fan/light, this might be over the top. It still has that creepy cold LED glow that reminds me of the movie The Shining. I also didn’t like that. There is no pattern on the ceiling from the Crystal looking lampshade. That said, it was a great price, and I am going to move it to a room where I need a ceiling fan but not a light.
