These curtain tie backs have a distressed look to them. They would go well in a rustic, farmhouse or beachy vibe room. I did not do the traditional installation. My husband doesn’t like wall anchors, so I made use of the door frame and installed them vertically. They still work well this way and I know they are secure. I’m not sure why other reviews said that these were flimsy. Maybe they weren’t installed correctly. My husband did a great job installing these. We have blackouts and sheers on them. This blackout curtain rod is just what I needed/expected. It shipped fast AND is great quality. I absolutely love that I could thread one side of the blackout curtain over the wall support, making one side of the curtain stationary when we pull the other side across (and it doesn't affect the aesthetic look of it). The only thing I will mention is that the instructions are pretty basic. There's not much explained on the directions besides notating what piece is what.
