Blind comes as stated – no deduction is made. For an inside mount, your window opening should measure 0.25 to 1 inch wider than the blind width to ensure a proper fit. They were fairly easy to install. We did have to loosen a screw on the mounted hardware pivot it slightly to be able to get the rod into the hardware’s mounting hole bc the recommended 14 inch space from the sill’s top was too tight. There’s a fairly big gap around the edges, as you can see in my pic where the daylight streams from behind the blind, but it’s not a dealbreaker. These are in the style of a Roman shade, which is a nice concept for covering the glass panel in French Doors. They are magnetic, so easy to position up or drop down. However, instead of some type of metal or sturdy resin material, the “rod” inserts at the back of the shade are cheap plastic tubes which do not fit tightly enough or stay together very well— when inserting to the back of the curtain, the sections come apart. There are several colors to choose from, and the material is lightweight, but blocks even the strong sunlight we have in the desert. Linen avenue custom room darkening roller shades are designed to allow a view out of the window while reducing the glare and incoming heat and protecting furnishings and floors from damaging uv rays. Their contemporary design adds style while preventing direct sunlight from entering the room during certain times of the day. You can order exact measurements of the opening rounding down to the nearest linen avenue will take the deduction needed to fit your window. Please note the widths include the brackets and mechanism which take up an inch on each side leaving a light gap of that size between the fabric and sill.
