There is a hole for an umbrella, but we don’t need one since ours is on a partially covered patio. If you use one, be sure to have a weighted base, since the table is lightweight. I received this set quickly, and it was well packaged! My husband and I spent the better part of an afternoon putting it together, but it was worth the effort. I had bought a table and chair set from Wayfair a few years ago. The table was great, with a glass top. A freak windstorm flipped the umbrella we had in the table and shattered the glass in a million pieces. We needed a new table that would work with the chairs were still had. When we finally got the set put together (which took us some time), we liked it quite well. The only issue was one chair doesn't sit flat, but rocks a bit on two legs. I had bought a table and chair set from Wayfair a few years ago. The table was great, with a glass top. A freak windstorm flipped the umbrella we had in the table and shattered the glass in a million pieces. We needed a new table that would work with the chairs were still had.
