Love this item! been waiting to get it. Instructions do mention you need to cover it, and use wax. I used metal spray for outdoor protection. The glass on 3 sides, reviews have overwhelmingly said they break into pieces. This is due to the glue they used, as glass and metal expand at different rates. I'm very happy with this propane fireplace overall. It was easy to assemble, feels well made, and looks great on my patio. The blue fire glass stones in the center are especially pretty and give it a modern, attractive look when it's lit.
