I purchased an open-box unit and it looks great. The base is very heavy and provides solid support for the arc lamp. The lamp is really attractive, it is the look I was hoping for. The shade has a nice black metal exterior and the interior is a brushed powdery gold which does not have that cheap gold look to it. The lamp has a study base and pole. The tubes on the pole have lengthy connections that screw easily together making the pole nice and solid on the heavy base.
