This is a very beautiful, high quality, chair. It is on the heavy side because I believe it is solid wood. It is finished with a smooth shiny coating. It is very sturdy and would complement many decors. It would be great as an extra chair when company comes. Pull out this beauty instead of the rickety one you have been meaning to replace. Or this would work as a student's desk chair and look great in that dorm room. However you use this great chair, you will be happy to have it on hand. I love mine and plan to use it a lot!!!. The chairs required installation and I had a heck of a time getting the plastic (usually wood) dowels into the holes! This is embarrassing to say, but I literally put them in the freezer for awhile and then used a hammer to get them placed in the dowel hole, otherwise I couldn't get them in. Once I figured that out, it went fairly smoothly and for 2 chairs, it took me ~20 min. The color matches my walnut dining table well. They are comfortable and modern. I'm pleased with the final result.. Michele. Orwaid. Wed Jun 10 2026
