This is a nice looking real pine bed frame! The slats though for the mattress are particle board. It took my son 1 hour to put together! It seems sturdy, I guess time will tell. I’m getting used to how low it is, but overall I like it. I would not recommend this style of frame for a kids room because of the squared edges. They would certainly smash into them. This is the dark gray version of the bed. It was very easy to assemble and everything lined up perfectly. If it didn’t, I’m sure they would’ve been able to replace it without much of an issue. It shipped very quickly, and there was no smell coming out of the box. The price is absolutely outstanding for the quality of the material.
