We really like this bed! It seems pretty sturdy. It took us about a 2 hours to put it together. I was really impressed with the fabric provided for the canopy—it has a nice weight to it drapes beautifully. The slats on the bed are supportive enough to hold a mattress without a box spring or board. The bed is made of real wood that has been painted, so there are superficial imperfections here and there. However, we are happy with how the bed looks despite these small flaws. My three year old daughter helped pick out this bed for herself, and she was so excited to see it put together. This bunk bed has two beds, plenty of sleeping space, and a semi-enclosed space under the bed, not only to sleep, but also to play. There is a tent-like house on the bed and it can also be disassembled. The slats of the upper bed also increase the load-bearing capacity of the bed. There is a ladder on the side of the bed to facilitate getting in and out of bed, and the upper bed has a guardrail to ensure safe sleep.
