Assembly wasn't to difficult, but did take about 4 hours to put it together by myself. Hardest part was getting the bed slats that go under the mattress to line up with both sides of the frame to go into the holes, but once you figure it out it's smooth sailing. Overall, very solid and sturdy. Stairs are a nice touch over a ladder and the little shelf cubbies make a good place for small stuff. The space underneath is a perfect fit for a 78" couch. I'm very happy with the metal bed frame. Comfortable and sturdy. I have limited storage, so appreciate that I can store things underneath the frame (air conditioner during winter, winter clothes during summer, etc.). I attached the frame to a metal headboard, and it looks like the two go together. The only draw back is that over time the mattress shifts one or two inches on the frame; however it is very easy to shift the mattress back so it aligns with the headboard.. Edisa. NY. We needed something small that would fit in this bedroom but still sleep 2 people comfortably. It was exactly as pictured. Great quality! The good news is I put the bed together by myself. The bad news is that working on it by myself took about 7 hours to complete. The frame is solid the stairs are great, but the instructions while detailed left a little to be desired. The diagrams were on the smaller side and it did not detail if a part had to go on a certain way. The good news is on the occasion I made an error it was easy to correct. My daughter loves this bed. This is for my 11 year old. He uses the desk to build his legos on and we store some tubs of lego's under the desk so that they are accessible for him to create things. The LED lights don't do much to light up under the bed. They are more for fun to decorate under the bed. We have added some LED lighting in different places under his bed so that it is depressing to hang out under there. It hurts a bit to climb the ladder. Not my favorite thing. However, I have discovered that most bunkbeds have this issue. The bed is a teeny bit squeaky if wiggled. My 17yr old son and I built the bed. However, I did most of it myself and I just called my son in to help with the mattress support railing. (You need two people.
