The package is a tall box. If it needs to be transported to upper level or lower level must have help to do so. I just opened the package and took each piece to upper level. The packaging was great. Instructions were clear. Lots of extra pieces of nuts were given. Can’t go wrong anywhere with assembly. Each piece was very well made. There’s hardly any assembly. It probably takes about 30 minutes to 40 minutes maximum. The wood pieces are solid wood. Has very smooth finish. The texture of the finished surface is soft and gives expensive feel. Once assembled one can tell its sturdy construction. We’ve been using it for a month now and no creaking or any noise. Perfect for apartment size bedroom or guest bedroom. Very happy with purchase. Making this bed is easy, our mattress is a Saatva Firm at 14”. Mattress drops nicely and fills the platform leaving a small gap to tuck sheets. Mattresses nowadays are very heavy but this bed allows picking up the corners without throwing out your back. Bed stays in place with no squeaking or cracking sounds. Ours arrived flawlessy. This is a nice looking real pine bed frame! The slats though for the mattress are particle board. It took my son 1 hour to put together! It seems sturdy, I guess time will tell. I’m getting used to how low it is, but overall I like it. I would not recommend this style of frame for a kids room because of the squared edges. They would certainly smash into them. I got the walnut king size bed and I LOVE it. It’s subtle Boho and comfy. I had my two 20 year old cousins put it together and they got through it in like 20 minutes.
