My daughter helped me, so it took about 20 minutes to do. The slats are wider than I like. I feel a base is needed. The draws are cute fabric boxes that come with wheels. You can opt out of using them to ease wear on your flooring. Overall, this is great. I have been sleeping on this bed 30 days now. There is no squeaking at all.
