The frame seems pretty lightweight, but the person putting it together said it's sturdy. I ordered this for a guest bedroom, so it won't be getting daily use. I have a guest room where I pushed two twin beds, and mattresses together to create a king bed. I got a strap to push the mattresses together, but there was still a 6-7" gap in the middle caused by the bed frames. That caused a divot in the middle of the bed. Problem solved with this bed board.
