This is the best mattress in I have owned in over 40 years, and at one time I sold mattresses. It is a little firm at first which is great for a heavy person that needs support. It is a very thick mattress which takes you several inches higher than most mattresses. It was time to replace my 2012 queen W Bed pillow top mattress (made by Beautyrest). Tried the Black hybrid cushion top (the W replacement) but it was much taller (13" v 14.5") which I did not like for my platform bed frame. Switched to the World Class non-pillow hybrid (13"), though I really liked that cushion top and I normally find foam beds too hot so was uncertain. I admit the first couple nights I wasn't sold but by night 3 I was sleeping like a baby again and wasn't hot. Because the mattress is 1/3 foam, it is heavier than my old mattress.. David89. Phenomenal mattress. It is actually firm, but not so firm that it feels like you are sleeping on a board. The edge is firm enough that you can comfortably sit on it, and the mattress does not sag or deflect when another person sits on it or rolls over. 10in is just the right height for finding sheets that fit and not being to high off the ground. Made in USA is a bonus. The mattress was ready for sleeping within an hour, but reached its peak firmness and size a day or two later (not enough to notice an appreciable difference).
