A door that swings shut on its own, or slams back into the wall, is a small daily irritation that most homes simply live with. This mushroom door stop from Evideco French Home Goods solves it with weight rather than hardware, and does it with a shape worth leaving out in the open. The cap is cut from ribbed corduroy in rust and finished with a woven herringbone trim; the stem below is cotton canvas in a soft cream. Inside, a fill of 90 percent sand and 10 percent fabric brings the piece to 2.3 lb, heavy enough to hold an interior door where you set it, light enough to nudge into place with a foot. Nothing screws into the floor, nothing sticks to the door, and no tools are needed. You set it down at the base of the door and it holds, stopping the swing before the handle reaches the wall and keeping paint and drywall unmarked. Every surface that touches your home is fabric, so hardwood, tile and painted doors stay as they were. At home in a bedroom, a nursery, a home office, or a hallway, it reads as a woodland object rather than a piece of door hardware.

Cast Iron Distressed White Door Stop - Heavy Duty 5.3 lb Ornate Handle Doorstopper, 16 Inch Traditional Style for Heavy Doors, Easy Move & Propping, Gift for Home & Occasions

Meet the door stopper with personality. This weighted dog settles at the base of any interior door and holds it open, so rooms stay connected for airflow, pet access, and easy movement. A sand-filled body gives it the heft to stay put on wood, tile, or laminate, while the woven boucle shell, contrast ears, and black button nose give it a soft, handmade charm. There is nothing to install and nothing to mount. Set it down where you need it and move it from the bedroom to the office to a living room or hallway. It works as a year-round character accent that quietly does a job. Available in taupe and cream. Spot clean as needed to keep the shell looking fresh.

Buffalo leather wraps this doorstop in a material that softens rather than wears out, picking up character from every hand that moves it.
