The Lexington Mailbox and Post Kit is manufactured from rust-proof polyethylene and polypropylene material with an ultraviolet inhibitor for long life. The product can be assembled and installed in a matter of minutes using common tools. All hardware needed for assembly is included. The base of the mailbox post is designed to be mounted over a 4 x 4 x 72 pressure-treated pine post (not included). Note: Actual dimensions of pressure-treated 4 x 4 x 72 post are 3 ½” x 3 ½” x 72”.

I'm giving it 4 stars because it's very cute but I certainly have some issues. First and foremost....this is Wayfair.ca, I'm Canadian, why is there an American flag on my birdhouse? The first thing I did was remove it. I will try and do the Canadian flag on the little piece and glue it back on. Second .... There is no hook, chain or anything with which to hang this which leads me to my third issue....the roof is very thin little cedar pieces. There is no way I can put a hook into that roof and hang the birdhouse in my tree. It would come crashing down in an hour. So I'm going to have to put some thought into how to install this in my tree. It has a flat bottom ... Maybe I can find a spot to sit it flat and secure it on a branch? That all said it is cute. The lighthouse birdhouse is a spot-on replica of the famous located at the easternmost point of Long Island, New York. The construction of the lighthouse was authorized by none other than President George Washington and bears the distinction of being the first public works project of the United States. The (in) famous pirate Captain Kidd is said to have buried treasure at the foot of the lighthouse, but it's yet to be found. This red and white lighthouse is a fully functional birdhouse featuring two nest boxes with openings, a removable back for yearly cleaning, drainage, ventilation, and unpainted interiors. The entire structure is built upon a river stone foundation and a custom-fit mounting plate makes installation a snap!
