Works excellent! Built it with a solar pump kit (SKU: W120104564 sold by Wayfair) and fountain runs 24/7 and only turns off when water gets low and the pump safety valve turns it off so it doesn’t burn out the motor. When screwing the fountain pieces together let the pieces find their groove on the threads so the fountain stays level and is not lopsided once all together. If converting to solar you will need to pop out the rubber gasket that is in the middle of the bottom tier of the fountain. Split the rubber gasket at the seam and remove the electrical cord for the included pump and replace it with the cord for the solar pump. Use GE 100% Silicone sealant to fill any gaps/ spaces in the center of rubber gasket/ plug, reseal the seam with silicone and spread silicone around the outer edge of the plug/ gasket and put it back in the base, let set for 24 hours before adding water. This is a nice bird bath. I wanted one that blends into my yard and wasn’t ornate and this fits that bill perfectly. It is hollow inside so it does need to be on solid, flat ground. Note that it isn’t perfectly level at its base so while it sits just fine it is at a slight angle - you can see where the water isn’t level in the bowl. There is no base stake so not sure why that is in the title but it isn’t needed and not sure how it would work anyway. And most importantly, the birds came right to and have continued to use it..
