These are heavier and sturdier than I expected them to be. I have not installed them yet, but the video makes it look simple. It was nice having it all in a kit. I'm not sure the price was any savings. I'm pretty sure it came to a bit more than I feel doing it a la carte would be, but, this way they supply the right stuff up front, so I'm good with it. Aside from shipping issues these tiles are great. They are strong and forgiving of less than desirable walls. Watch the videos and do exactly as they say and installation with be quick and smooth. I used these for my bathtub surround and being 68 doing it alone I was able to do it all myself. I did it in two days mostly because I was hesitant about doing it around the water lines. my plumbing hadn't been touched since at least the 50s and had longer bigger pipes than today. Cutting and drilling out the holes was never a problem. I will say though using a utility knife for anything other than trimming edges is difficult. Luckily I had a small table saw that worked great. This tub is very large and deep. The drain is high enough to get completely covered and it is long enough to lay all the way back. The material is some kind of stone so it is very heavy to move and get in place. This also gives it a cool stone feel when you’re in it.
