This shelf insert is very nice. It’s heavy which makes it feel like quality. The white finish is flawless. The shelves are already built in so no assembly required, which is fantastic. There are zero seams on the faceframe of the unit, which really makes it feel like a high quality built-in product. There is a slight hairline crack on the inside backing, but it’s not super noticeable and I’m thinking once it’s installed and filled, it won’t even be noticeable. Wow! This is cute. I was scared because I had to cut my drywall to recess it into the wall. I found my studs, marked them, centered the shelf in-between. I had my daughter hold it up, i traced it with a pencil and cut it out with a drywall knife. It slid right in. I screwed it to the studs....so easy. The whole process took 20 minutes. I love it. Concealed hinges with soft close built in! Door is left undrilled for a knob or handle so you can mount it to open either direction. Door covers the entire plastic trim surround when the door is closed and only projects about 1 inch from the wall. Solid Maple Double Villa Bead style door. Proudly made in sunny Sarasota Florida. Typically, you will have 14.5" between studs (16" on center) but this cabinet only requires an opening in your wall of 14 1/4 wide. I love this shower niche! We are building an apartment above our garage and I'm trying to match the style of our house. Our bathrooms have black and white subway tile with mosaic floors. We did niches in the showers using tile and they look good, but it was difficult and I notice the imperfections all the time. This seems like the solution to all my shower niche problems! I love that the shelves are tall enough to accommodate my giant shampoo bottles. The great thing about this niche is you could use it horizontally or vertically. I'm thinking of getting a second one to place horizontally above my sink/vanity for skincare items, etc. I think this is going to look fabulous when installed. It's a very solid, sleek piece and I LOVE that the shelves are angled just the slightest bit to allow water to run off rather than accumulate. I hope to update this review after it is installed, but for now I'm including some photos of the item itself, next to the tile floor and a "mock-up" of the the bathroom that our guy did just to show placement, etc. You have to use your imagination a bit to get the full effect, but if you're looking for a shower niche with plenty of room and a great design, this is a really solid choice..
