Thought it seemed nice however our contractor would not put it in in strongly, suggested not having a fan with a light because it would never match the other lights in the room for color temperature therefore we sent it back. Anonymous. Tue Aug 18 2026

This humidity sensing exhaust bath fan, energy star offers easy, room-side installation, with “No Attic Access Required”. Ceiling mounted ventilation fan features foldable mounting ears and EZ Duct connector for easy installation. New duct damper technology provides a tighter seal, resulting in reduced warm and cold air backdrafts. This is a nice fan!!! The description is not accurate, it has no light. It was not a surprise for me because I got a description from the Broan site using the fan's code AE50110DCS. I had AE50110DC and wanted to replace it with an automatic fan that turns on automatically when humidity is high and works for a specific period of time (it has a timer, a duration is up to 60 min). The fan allows the user to select a speed 50, 80 or 110 CFM. My previous fan (AE50110DC) had a permanent speed of 110. AE50110DCS at 110 makes the same level of noise as AE50110DC at 110. AE50110DCS at 80 is a little bit quieter, just a little bit. Therefore, I selected the speed 50 CFM which is really quiet for me. I set a humidity selector at 70% and a timer at 60 min. I know that for a 4PC bathroom the speed of 50 CFM is not enough but I keep a door to the bathroom open all the time and the fan will run for 60 minutes, then check humidity again and start a new 60-min cycle if humidity is above 70%. I guess it should be enough, time will show. I had a choice to buy a bigger Panasonic fan which is as quiet at 110 CFM as this fan at 50 CFM, but decided to use a fan with the same dimensions as my old one. In spite of the fact that this fan turns on automatically you may turn it on manually if necessary - turn a switch on, then off and on again.. Alexander. Kitchener, ON. Mon Nov 06 2023

Caveat: I haven't installed it yet. But it arrived on time, in the expected condition, the packaging was protective, the instructions are clear (they're for a couple different models, so you have to pay attention to what model you're actually working with). I like the options of the different speeds and the night light, though I'd rather it were an actually adjustable speed fan (I'd pay more for that feature). I also don't like that the light is round but the housing is square... perhaps ideal for retrofit but I'm gutting the entire room and would prefer a sleeker look (it just doesn't seem to exist with the options I want). I am a little disappointed with the plastic-y look of the fixture itself though, and this is the real reason for the missing star. The visible portion of the housing is actually made of plastic, as advertised, not coated metal or anything... I guess that's good for rust-proofing, but... it just looks much cheaper than I'd rather. I'm hoping it will look better in a finished ceiling than it did during my receipt-inspection of it. I left the protective film on the light fixture in my photos, that will obviously look better once installed. I'll hopefully be able to update this review with additional photos and comments at that time. Post installation update: I like the nightlight feature, the fan is super quiet (it's hard to hear if it's turned on until it gets going even), but it's a very *yellow* light. I guess it does say 3000K is the color, but... honestly it looks more like 2500K lights than that. The paint on the ceiling is Sherman Williams High Reflective White (the highest LRV / "whitest" white paint they sell). So we will likely just use the nightlight and fan features, and rely on the other lights in the bathroom for actual light.. E.w.. PA. Tue Jan 04 2022
