Glass table tops work well in small areas so you get the feeling of space. That is the number one reason I went with it. Constructed poorly. The shelf in the middle does not fit properly. The instructions are not written, there are tiny pictures of which you cannot see. The middle shelf that stabilizes the table came with 3 corners damaged and a scratch on the top surface, and a big chip in one table leg. Perhaps this table was bits and pieces of others, should have taken 10 min, but to 3 hours and 2 people to try to match misaligned parts. Also description said black, it's more espresso it does have brown tones. Glass top is pretty but incredibly heavy, so with the poor design of the base, I would question how long it will hold up a 100lb top.
