Our rain barrels are uniquely designed with plastic fittings that match the rate of expansion and contraction of barrel plastic from season to season to avoid leakage. These rain barrels are repurposed from pre-used imported food barrels. There may be slight scratching or scuffs due to previous overseas transportation. Since our rain barrels are made of High-Density Polyethylene Plastic they can be left outdoors even in the winter months so there is no need to modify your downspouts in the Spring and Fall. The exact shape of the barrels may vary due to availability but the color and size remain true. Because these barrels were originally used to transport food, there may be residual food product odor. The residual odor will dissipate after a few full barrel filling cycles. Very straightforward and easy to set up. I connected the two to capture spillover and it worked! Simple to attach hoses for watering items 50’ plus away. Low water pressure but that is expected. The rain wizard really works great when we had a hard rain last week it filled the barrel full and I have used that to water my flower garden. It works great and is easy to disburse the water out. I like the look of the barrel. A bit rustic in surface texture, but elegant too, in the shapely design. I have not yet hooked it all up, I have to build the patio it's going to be on first, but I have high hopes for its use in the future. These whiskey barrel planters are great. Our family has had three more just like them for 16 years. One is used as a small water feature with a bamboo fountain and the other two as traditional planters. Because of the size and material the soil does not dry out too quickly. This was even better looking than I thought it would be. It looks beautiful. However, customers should know that there is no opening for a diverter hose from a downspout. And there are no instructions for setting up other than the spigots. It seems like it is designed to just sit anywhere and gather rain, which would take forever.
