These rain barrels are repurposed from pre-used imported food barrels. There may be slight scratching or scuffs due to previous overseas transportation. Since our rain barrels are made of High-Density Polyethylene Plastic they can be left outdoors even in the winter months so there is no need to modify your downspouts in the Spring and Fall. The exact shape of the barrels may vary due to availability but the color and size remain true. Because these barrels were originally used to transport food, there may be residual food product odor. These unique saxophone holders are made with a stave from an authentic whiskey barrel! We currently make these for alto/tenor saxophones. The hanging hardware is sourced from the manufacturer, String Swing, a very reputable company for hanging instruments, and is also located in Wisconsin! We sand each barrel and stave carefully to bring out the unique grains of the white oak while leaving the black marks where the rings of the barrel were. Two pilot holes make it simple to install and black wooden buttons are included to cover the screws. It is given a matte finish which brings out the grains of the oak and a nice light walnut color. Mounting hardware included. These are made with 1/2 length of a normal whiskey barrel stave, so are roughly 17" tall and can vary between 3-5" wide. Our 55-gallon gray barrels are a great “neutral” color that looks nice with the green plants and trees in your garden. They hide well behind deciduous trees and bushes, and won’t clash with any color house. Heavy-duty screening keeps mosquitoes out. Our rain barrels are uniquely designed with plastic fittings that match the rate of expansion and contraction of barrel plastic from season to season to avoid leakage. These rain barrels are repurposed from pre-used overseas food barrels. There may be slight scratching or scuffs due to previous overseas transportation. Since our rain barrels are made of high-density polyethylene plastic they can be left outdoors even in the winter months so there is no need to modify your downspouts in the spring and fall. The exact shape of the barrels may vary due to availability but the color and size remain true. Because these barrels were originally used to transport food, there may be residual food product odor. The residual odor will dissipate after a few full barrel-filling cycles. We use a ph-balanced, environmentally friendly soap when cleaning so that the water gathered can immediately be used on plants without harm. These barrels keep difficult to break down plastics from adding bulk to landfills and also contain and repurpose stormwater.

Arrived in great condition, simple set up. Seems well made. You don't need to be extremely precise on gutter orientation. We have about a 24" gap from open down spout to the barrel opening. Before we had a chance to correct that it rained and it filled just fine. Ordering a second one to link together using a short length of flexible garden hose with female fittings on both ends. These whiskey barrel planters are great. Our family has had three more just like them for 16 years. One is used as a small water feature with a bamboo fountain and the other two as traditional planters. Because of the size and material the soil does not dry out too quickly. For these two new ones, I've converted them into self-watering planters using sturdy 22 inch saucers and 1/2 inch solid-braid nylon rope for wicking the water up into the soil. This was a good price. Barrel has a very light finish so as to allow some breathing but keep from staining. Very nice barrel, I cleaned mine out and filled it with water. It didn’t leak at all.
