It is waterproof. I wasn't sure if it was going to hold up to the rain (rained quite a bit since we put it outdoors). The water pools on it, so you have to lift the cushion to drain or put something under it for gravity to help drain it. It is a nice color of grey. It does slide a bit when your on it based on the material (satin like) & not as thick as my other cushion material. I wished it had ties at the bottom to hold it from sliding as the top & middle straps are not strong enough to. Love this chair!! Assembly seemed pretty straightforward until the last couple steps with the fabric and the that goes in it. You kinda just have to figure it out how to get the bars in there.
