I haven't had a recliner in years and years. This chair puts my body into different positions that really improves circulation and makes my back feel great. I did a ton of research before buying and decided to go with Flexsteel because of their sterling reputation for building furniture that lasts. It looks great , BUT if you want to sit straight this isn’t for you. The set has a natural 45 degree angle to them and if you want to rest your shoulders, you have no choice but to lean back. The bottom frame is also clearly visible. There is about a 3 inch space between the bottom of the set and the floor, the rest is a frame that’s visible from an angle. We bought the rockers for our screened in porch. They are very comfortable. The back is a tad shorter than I would like, but will work where they are at. The chairs were super easy to put together. We were looking for something that swiveled , rocked and reclined manually so we didn’t have electrical cords in middle of room. The only issue I have is when you lean all the way back, they don’t click in place. I am a very short and thin person and when laying back I don’t have much weight on it to keep them in place. I was cautious when I didn’t see many reviews, but the chair and sofa are much nicer than expected. Soft leather, well built and assembles easy. I would rate the firmness as not too firm, not too soft. A good middle of the road supportive and comfortable. Keep in mind the recliner is not a rocker or swivel. I am so very pleased with these chairs! My husband took his time, due, he said, to the many parts, but it was easy enough and he estimated it took him two hours in total.
