The solid cast iron round base has leveling glides to prevent the table from wobbling on uneven floors. The steel has a 3" diameter and is made of 16 gauge steel. The top and base are all shipped in one box.

It’s well worth the 80$ and I now have extra seating infront of my window in my eating area. It is just the perfect height to meet the windows at appropriate length. Nice and sturdy. I love the chunky style. Fits my small dining area. It arrived with a few dings and one small cracksplinter on the top.
