Surprised by these. They are not like a rug or carpet, just printed on rubber-like material. Soft on top with a cute print, grippy on the bottom. Came with tape, but I didn't use it; they do move some, mostly on the first step. You will not need the tape if your stairs are wood. Very comfy on the feet and stay in place for the most part.
