This is a fixed shutter-style product that is modular, DIY, and hand-crafted. The framework is made out of a beautiful commercial grade mill finish aluminum that is powder-coated and will not rust. The hardware is stainless steel and provides additional support to the durable frame. The powder-coating finishes are offered in black, bronze, copper, and pewter. Each finish has a resistant coating to help (1) maintain its rich color while being exposed to harsh UV rays, (2) prevent moisture and soil buildup on the frame, and (3) maintain a water-resistant barrier that allows for rain to roll off of the awning. Great value for the price. I installed it on my Sorara Mirador Pergola, and it worked well. I’d need is raising the underside height from 89” to 94”. Some of the louvers arrived with minor factory paint scratches. I reached out to Mirador for touch-up paint, but they don’t offer any. I bought a pair of these green shutters, they ended up not matching our house paint. So I bought the exact same version but paintable. I was a bit distressed to find that they are actually almost 3/4” longer. Which doesn’t seem like much, but when I measured the windows and ordered 67” they fit my window perfectly, now the paintable version is off. Purchased the Riverwood style. Painted them but have not installed yet. They arrived primed, but primer is tacky…sticky. I have had to put 2 heavy coats of paint on them. Still painting…waiting for paint coats to dry and not be sticky either. Only concern is the shutters are not as sturdy as I expected (why the 4 stars) and hoping during installation they will not be damaged.
