The back piece is a thin particle board backing which was useful because we needed to insert some wires for the TV box and it was easy to make a hole and add the Samsung box for the frame TV. If desired and suitable, the sideboard can be used as a tv & media furniture. For this type of use, the necessary opening for the use of cables is left in the back wall of the cabinet.
